Costume Hair & Makeup

Students in Year 8 Costume, Hair and Makeup have been exploring authentic driving questions to enhance their 21st Century skills and knowledge through project based learning.

Some students have been acting as costume designers and learning about communication in the workplace as they design and create costumes for Ms Kennedy’s musical theatre Project Based Learning class.

Others have set up their own make up business, learnt valuable business and finance skills through costing out and selling handmade jewellery. Khaan, Kate and Luka have been working on raising awareness of social issues like plastic pollution in our oceans by making a costume out of found objects.

All students have been progressing their makeup skills through practical lessons. They have been documenting their work via tracking sheets and a portfolio. This has seen their ICT and literacy and numeracy skills improve, an essential skill for the future.
