About this Event
Are you worried a young person in your life needs support with their mental health?
Do you know what to do or say?
Are you aware of all the services available locally for young people and their families?
We can help! Come along to Merewether BC for a drink, FREE food and a chance to meet a Knights player in a chilled environment.
You will first hear a short introduction from headspace Newcastle's community development officer, Byron Williams starting at 7pm.
Our experienced panel of Roger Currie, a community worker and project officer at the Family Action Centre, University of Newcastle and Dayle Fogarty, specialist youth support worker from CALM (Community Activities Lake Macquarie) will then give overviews of services and programs available locally for young people and men to help with their mental health.
Following this, Hymel Hunt from our awesome Newcastle Knights will talk about strategies he has used to stay motivated being a young sporting star with some tips about support from Dean Noonan, the Knights' Well-being and Education Manager.
Finally, there is an opportunity to ask questions and exchange views and ideas with our people.
