Dixie shines at SSA National Track and Field Championships in Darwin

National Athlectics

Congratulations to the amazing Dixie Conlon on representing NSW at the SSA National Track and Field Championships in Darwin last week.

Dixie competed in Long Jump and jumped 4.13 metres. At a national level, the competition was really tough, however Dixie managed to place 11th in Australia!

She was also asked to join the Northern Territory 4x100m relay team, as they didn’t have enough competitors qualify to make up a team. She was VERY excited to be included in this event. Dixie and another NSW team member were selected from over 180 students to complete the NT team, with the girls taking out 4th place!

Dixie said it was amazing meeting the girls from NT, one of the girls was from a remote Indigenous community, it was a fantastic experience.

Whilst in Darwin, Dixie visited a crocodile park, and did a jumping Crocodile cruise, she went to Litchfield National Park, fed wild fish, traded state pins with kids from all the other states, went to the famous Mindil Markets and watched the beautiful Darwin sunset. Dixie and her family visited the wave pool, and played tips on Darwin’s lagoon waterfront with some of the fastest kids in Australia and she didn’t want to come home!

Dixie said it was the most incredible trip with so many highlights and wonderful new friendships made.

Dixie sat down with Xuela to talk about her wonderful experience, click HERE for the full interview

Congratulations on this amazing accomplishment Dixie, your HSPA family is so proud of you.
