Ex Student a Finalist in Colonial First State Sports Boost

Colonial Sports Boost Vote

Ex student Sam Fricker,  a 17 year-old Australian Diver  has been selected as a finalist in Colonial First State’s Sports Boost competition.

For the past 6 years Colonial First State has run the Sports Boost competition offering young Australian athletes the chance to win up to $20,000 to help fund their sporting careers.

From hundreds of entries, Sam was one of the 3 selected as a finalist to go in the running to win the Sports Boost grand prize.

The competition is fierce and with such an incredible prize on the line, winning the Sports Boost competition could be the difference between making and breaking Sam’s professional sporting career.

Sam’s former coach Vyninka Arlow said “Sam is the hardest working athlete I have coached”

This year Sam made it on the Australian National Team making him eligible for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and was the first Australian to ever win the Dresden Youth International Diving Meet in A Boys Platform, which he won by nearly 50 points. In 2018 he placed 2nd at Australian Open National Championships, backing for 2nd place in this year in the final. He was then placed 3rd overall In the Mens 10m Open Platform.

Sam has also been a 12 times School Sport Australian Champion from 2016-2019.
