Imogen Bamback, 15, will be the lead in Hunter Drama's production of Peter Pan Jr., changing up the story to cast a 'Peta'.
Acclaimed director and Salamander Bay native James Tolhurst will be guiding Imogen as she leads a cast of 50 local stars. The musical gives Imogen, along with a number of the Hunter's brightest young theatre performers, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be involved in a lavish, large-scale production of the beloved Peter Pan story. "I think it's so interesting playing a character like Peter, his personality is so fun and interesting," Imogen said.
The cast have gained invaluable experience and have even undertaken specific training for the performance. Those playing the main characters recently travelled to Melbourne for flying lessons with world-leading production company Showtech, to ensure their stunts will be as safe as they are spectacular.
The show will be on stage during the school holidays, with two performances daily at the Civic Theatre from October 10th to 12th. Discounted tickets will on offer on the Civic Theatre website for Herald readers until 3pm on Wednesday.
