86 students in Years 7 to 11 recently competed in the 'Write a Book in a Day' challenge.
Write a Book in a Day is a creative writing competition, where teams plan, write, edit and illustrate a story in just twelve hours. Completed books are donated to children in hospitals across Australia. Each book is between 3,500 and 5,000 words.
As part of the challenge, teams are also asked to raise sponsorship for The Kids' Cancer Project. This money is invested into scientific research. This year, our students raised in excess of $7,920. Thank you to our wider school community for your generous support.
Congratulations to all students who participated this year. Not only were you excellent ambassadors for our school, but you demonstrated key school values including cooperation, respect, participation and excellence. Well done.
Each participant will receive a copy of their book early next term and copies will also be available for loan from our school library.
A very big thank you to Ms Walker and Library staff for once again creating such a fantastic opportunity for our students.
