COVID-19 Update Mon 16 Mar

Dear Parents/Caregivers

I am writing to update you on the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) processes that are being put in place at HSPA. NSW Public schools currently remain open, but are being encouraged to practice ‘Social Distancing’ and good hygiene practises.

The latest advice from the Department can be found at:

​ This is updated as required. In light of this:

• we have cancelled our formal assemblies
• non-essential staff meetings will be moved to online platforms
• we have added extra hand wash and hand sanitiser
• we are consolidating our online learning plan for any students required to self-isolate, or should the school be required to close
• part of this planning is to survey all students about their access to devices and internet from home

Most excursions and events are cancelled. Exceptions are where it is an excursion to a local area and involves three or less schools.

We ask that you help us by:

• keeping your child at home if they feel unwell with flu-like symptoms
• notifying the school if your child or a close family member is confirmed to have the virus
• being patient with staff as teacher absence may have an impact on who is teaching regular classes

We will continue to keep you updated as we receive new information each day. Our methods of communication are:

• canvas: for communication with students and parents, please review notification settings. Instructions will be put up on website today in ‘Technology Access’
