Before and After School

Before & After School

Travel To and From School

Primary students may enter and leave school via the end gate on Lambton Road closest to the primary classrooms. The pedestrian crossing at the traffic lights must be used at all times when crossing Lambton Road.  Cyclists must not ride bicycles within school grounds and bike racks are available at the back of the school.  If travelling by car, parents are asked to be aware of children moving to and from cars, especially in wet weather, and adhere to all parking restrictions surrounding the school.

The School Opal card provides free travel to school aged students between home and school on weekdays under the School Student Transport Scheme. Parents need to apply for their School Opal card online at www.transportnsw.info/school-students or update their existing School Opal Card details online at https://apps.transport.nsw.gov.au/ssts/#/updateDetails.

Bus Stands

A diagram showing the regular Lambton Road (westbound) bus stop stands for HSPA and all additional transport information can be found on our school website.

All Primary students will be supported during the first few weeks of school with teachers coordinating travel groups and accompanying them to the bus stops.

Before & After School Care

Out of School Hours care is not provided onsite at HSPA.

Supervision of Pupils

There is no direct supervision by teachers in the primary playground before 8:40am.  Children arriving before 8:40am must sit under the covered outdoor learning area or go to the library from 8am. All students must be picked up by parents/caregivers at the conclusion of the school day or catch public transport home.  Students waiting to be collected after 3:05pm will wait in the Main Administration building, where minimal supervision is available for emergencies and special circumstances.
