ATTENTION – HIGH SCHOOL DANCE ENSEMBLE AUDITIONS ARE HAPPENING!

Dance Company & Ensemble Auditions 2021

Time to audition for the Hunter School of Performing Arts High School Dance Companies.

The Companies and Ensembles give students a chance to excel in performance, gain greater confidence, create works and work as a part of a team.

Anyone can audition regardless if you were successful in another performing arts area.

The Dance Companies & Ensembles are re-auditioned every year and after a 5 week break many things can change, so don’t be disheartened if you have missed out before or are even a little nervous, just have fun and give it a go. This could be your year.

Very Important Information – (read carefully)

• Rehearsals for the companies and ensemble groups will take place 1 morning before school commencing at 8 am and or in the extended Monday lunch time. (The teacher in charge of the group will decide what day this will happen)
• If selected and you choose to accept, please be aware that you may need to pay for a company T-Shirt, costumes for performances and excursions as they arise.
• Note – The times for these auditions (stated below) are the only times available for us to audition you. If you can’t make this time slot then unfortunately there is nothing we can do. There will be NO other times for you to audition and NO call backs. By providing 1 time slot only all students get the same experience, environment setting and adequate time to learn all set exercises / routines.

The auditions will take place after school in the GYM (With the exception of Tap)

Students who are successful in gaining a place in Senior, Intermediate or Junior Company will be the only groups considered for entry into the HSPA Star Struck School Group

Week 2 Thursday 4^th February

3:15pm – 4:45pm     Contemporary (Year 7)

4:45pm – 6:00pm   Classical Ballet Students (Year 7 through to Year 12)

Week 3 Tuesday 9^th February

3.15pm – 4.45pm   Contemporary (Year 8 & Year 9)                             

4.45pm – 6.15pm   Contemporary (Year 10 & 11)                                                                                     

Week 3 Thursday 11^th February

3.15pm - 4.45pm   Jazz (Year 7 through to Year 12)

4:45pm - 6.00pm  Tap (Year 7 through to Year 12)

HIP HOP CREW – Please note that the audition for Hip Hop will be held in Term 1. The day and date for this audition will be out soon. Look out for notices on canvas and our school’s Facebook page.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL – This company is for Year 12 students. Workshops for Pre-Professional Company will be held in Term 1. The day and date for the workshop will be out soon. Look out for notices on canvas, our school’s Facebook page and messages from your class teachers

Attire - All students must be dressed in appropriate dance clothing. Hair neatly pulled back.

Please make sure you arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and warm up.
