HSPA Marching Band at The Newcastle Show

08 Mar 2022

Congratulations to each and every member of the Marching Band it was a fantastic first gig for 2022. The first of many.

We are so proud of this ensemble as the last two years has been difficult to say the least. Your patience, commitment and resilience to stick to it through the pandemic and present the shows you did last night, in the humidity and with only 5 rehearsals is astonishing. Our communities will be in fantastic hands as you all progress through school and go out into the big wide world.

Roger Geary the Show President commented on how brilliant the performances were and that he hasn't seen you for a couple of years. He looks forward to working with you again next year.

Congratulations to Drum Major Miss Madeline Sellens. Finally a chance for her to fulfil her role as a strong student leader.

It was wonderful to see some of our brand-new members in year 5 & 6 attend the performance to watch what happens when we are out on a gig. They were very impressed and excited.

A huge thank you to our absolutely incredible parental support crew. From sewing on buttons, doing hair buns, getting water for our thirsty performers, body guards, towing the school trailer with equipment, unloading and loading, transporting students' bags and uniforms so they just had to walk, mercy trips back to school for uniforms and instruments. They say it takes a village to raise a takes a city to raise a marching band. It is so good to be back and stepping off.
